Ganguly disappointed

COLOMBO: Indian captain Sourav Ganguly was disappointed his team did not have the chance to win the ICC Champions Trophy outright after rain forced the abandonment of their re-run final against Sri Lanka on Monday. "I am disappointed," he said. "We've played exceptionally well and it was great to see the fight we have showed here."

Sri Lankan skipper Sanath Jayasuriya said it was "unfortunate" that rain had intervened, but felt his slow bowlers would have had a good chance of bowling India out to win the game. "Both teams wanted to play, but unfortunately weather intervened. "But we were not really under pressure because the pitch was getting slower and it would not have been easy to bat. "The total of 220 was a manageable one."
