Pakistan's World Cup squad to be finalised soon: Tauqir 

LAHORE: Pakistan's 30-member World Cup squad will be finalised soon for submission to the International Cricket Council before the given deadline, November 30. 

This was stated by Chairman, Pakistan Cricket Board, Lt General Tauqir Zia at a news conference here on Friday. He said so far the selectors have named 16 players and rest of the 14 will be selected soon. "We are carrying out a thorough observation before naming players and the party will be finalised before the deadline," he said. 

General Tauqir Zia said PCB was exploring a number of options for the tour of Pakistan A and other junior teams and hopefully a comprehensive tour plan will be announced soon. 

Responding to a question, he said situation was fast improving in Pakistan to host cricket events and expressed the hope that foreign teams will visit Pakistan as per schedule next year. "India is scheduled to visit us in April, South Africa in October followed by the visit of the Bangladesh team and if things run smoothly then these teams will definitely be visiting Pakistan," he said.
