Turner to manage Sheffield Wednesday 

SHEFFIELD, England: Sheffield Wednesday appointed their former goalkeeper Chris Turner as the club's new manager on Thursday. 

The 44-year-old native of Sheffield had two stints at Wednesday in his long playing career, which also included spells at Sunderland, Manchester United and Leeds United. 

Turner, who left his post at Hartlepool United to join Wednesday, has signed a contract at Hillsborough until the end of the 2004-05 season.
