Hussain makes early landing in Australia

PERTH, Australia: England captain Nasser Hussain has arrived in Australia ahead of his team with his pregnant wife.

Hussain's wife Karen is planning to give birth to the couple's second child at a hospital in the Western Australian state capital. The baby is due on November 20.

The remainder of the England squad is due to fly into Perth on Friday (tomorrow) with Hussain and coach Duncan Fletcher scheduled to hold a news conference on Saturday.

They open their tour on October 22 at Lilac Hill, near Perth, against an Australian Cricket Board Chairman's XI.
