Saeed Anwar to be considered after recovery: PCB
KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that seasoned opener Saeed Anwar would be actively considered for selection once he regains his full fitness.
In a statement on Tuesday, the PCB spokesman said that Saeed had never informed the Board about regaining his full fitness.
And when at the time of the selection of the Pakistan One-day squad for the series against New Zealand, the doctors were asked about Saeed's fitness and they categorically stated he would take atleast another four weeks to completely recover from his wrist injury.
"Suffice to say that Saeed Anwar, as and when he regains his full fitness, would definitely be under active consideration for selection and would be provided with every opportunity to reclaim his place in the side," the spokesman said.
Saeed few days back after the One-day squad was announced claimed he had regained fitness but the Board had not considered him for selection or spoken to him on this issue.
Saeed has been out of cricket since January this year after a stress fracture was discovered in his wrist that he sustained during the tournament in Sharjah last October and November.
Pakistan coach Mudassar Nazar has said couple of times that the team was missing the services of Saeed and he would be available for the New Zealand series.
