South Africa toil on day two
COLOMBO: South Africa struggled with bat and ball on the second day
of their warm-up match against a Sri Lanka Board President's XI on
Saturday. The tourists were bowled out for 226 in 67.4 overs to
concede a 25-run first innings lead.
The President's XI then extended their advantage to 148 at the close
after racing to 123 for one.
Martin van Jaarsveld (41), Jacques Ruldolph (49) and Shaun Pollock
(39) spent valuable time at the crease for South Africa.
Boeta Dippenaar also found some form with 35 not out, but Jacques
Kallis (18), Mark Boucher (11) and Lance Klusener (0) all failed
with the bat.
The two-test series starts on Wednesday in Galle.
