Missing Indian players worry Pak authorities
LAHORE: The security guys around the Indian
cricket team pressed panic buttons on Saturday when three of its
players left the hotel without any escorts, highly placed sources
said on Sunday.
There was no mishap with the players concerned as the Pakistani
security agents traced them after some time but they were unhappy
with the incident.
The highly-guarded Pearl Continental hotel here had chaotic scenes
on Saturday for about an hour when the incident took place. "We had
requested the players not to venture out of their hotels without the
double cover security. But they didn’t take any on Saturday," said
one of the top security official accompanying the Indian team.
While two players were with a local cricketer friend at his home,
the third was out shopping alone.
