Pakistan's Youhana sent
home from Nairobi
NAIROBI: Pakistan batsman Yousuf Youhana has been sent
home from the triangular tournament due to start in the
Kenyan capital on Thursday, officials said on Tuesday.
"Yousuf Youhana has been asked to return to
Pakistan from the current tour. A detailed report has
been sent to the Pakistan Cricket Board and the matter
explained to the chairman of the board via
telephone," Pakistan team manager Yawar Saeed said
in a statement.
Saeed declined to discuss the issue further, saying it
would be unwise to do so before the Board and the
chairman were informed.
He said no replacement would be called up. Youhana, the
28-year-old right-hander from Lahore, was named in the
15-man Pakistani squad for the triangular tournament
also involving world champions Australia and Kenya.
Youhana has also been included in the 14-man squad for
the ICC Champions Trophy to be held in Sri Lanka in
October, but officials could not say whether he would
miss that tournament as well.
Pakistan play Kenya in the first match of the triangular
tournament on Thursday before facing Australia on
Friday.
