Younis Khan shatters Kenya

NAIROBI: Kenya's fast bowler Thomas Odoyo (L) bowls to Pakistan's Shoaib Malik during their tri-nation match on September 1, 2002
NAIROBI: Right-hander Younis Khan hit an unbeaten 87 as Pakistan thrashed Kenya by seven wickets in the third match of the triangular one-day tournament.

The middle order batsman blasted 11 fours and a six to help his team bounce back from a crushing 224 runs defeat against Australia on Friday.

Khan smashed his winning boundary over the Kenyan medium pacer Jimmy Kamande as Pakistan overhauled Kenya's total of 197 in just 39.4 overs.

"It is very pleasing that we have started playing well," said Pakistan captain Waqar Younis.

Waqar singled out fellow pace bowler Shahid Afridi for his 2-33 in 10 overs.
