Training camp for Australia-bound Pak team begins

LAHORE: The training camp for the Australia bound Pakistan squad commenced here Wednesday at the Gadaffi Stadium with captain Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar and Shahid not reported being abroad.

Out of the 14-member party, ten reported and the four others are likely to join the camp tomorrow after missing flights from aborad.

"The camp will be in full swing in a couple of days", said manager, Yawar Saeed after a morning session work out in which players had a round of physical training and brief net practice in the following session in afternoon.

Despite heavy overnight rain the PCB ground staff worked hard to prepare and fit the stadium for the training and net practice. The team will leave for Australia on June 4 to compete in the Super Challenge tournament in which Pakistan will play three matches, two indoor and one out door.
