Pakistan cricketers to
leave for Melbourne today
KARACHI: An 18-member Pakistan cricket squad will leave
for Melbourne (Australia) Tuesday night without batsman
Misbah-ul-Haq to play Super Challenge-II Series against
Australia.
During their fortnight stay in Australia, Pakistan will
play two indoor matches against World Champions
Australia at Colonial Stadium Melbourne on June 12 and
15 while third one-dayer will be played at Brisbane on
June 19.
Pakistan team will also play a one-day game against
Queensland XI at Brisbane on June 8. Misbah-ul-Haq was
withdrawn from the team as he was down with Hepatitis
and team will leave with reduced strength of 13 players,
Pakistan Cricket Board announced Monday.
Paceman Waqar Younis is leading the team while
Inzmam-ul-Haq is his deputy. Other member of the team
are:
Saeed Anwar, Shahid Afridi, Imran Nazir, Yousuf Youhana,
Younis Khan, Azhar Mahmood, Wasim Akram, Shoaib Malik,
Rashid Latif (wicket-keeper), Shoaib Akhtar, Muhammad
Sami.
Yawar Saeed (Manager) Mudassar Nazar (Coach), Sikander
Bakht (Cricket Analyst), Dr Riaz (Physio) and Dr Aamir
Siddiqui (Human Resources Advisor) are the officials of
the team.
