India clinch series after
Harbhajan strikes
CHENNAI: Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh grabbed three
wickets in an over on Sunday to set India up for a
series-clinching eight-wicket win over West Indies in
the second test. Set only 81 after West Indies were
dismissed for 229 in their second innings, India coasted
to victory less than an hour after lunch on the fourth
day with rain threatening to hold up their victory
charge.
Harbhajan had earlier turned the game around with his
breakthrough three-wicket over after left-arm paceman
Zaheer Khan had dismissed danger-man Ramnaresh Sarwan
for 78. West Indies, 186 for four overnight, lost their
last six wickets for 21 runs.
Khan had a morning spell of 4.4-2-6-3. India won the
first test in Mumbai by an innings and 112 runs. The
final test will be played in Calcutta from October
30-November 3.
